Interim Leadership Experience

Interim Pathology Operations Director

Interim Pathology Operations Director for a large academic medical center in Boston, MA.  Responsible for leadership of Pathology operations with 13 direct reports and approximately 250 FTEs, with two separate Core Laboratories. In addition to leading day to day operations, conducted analysis of current structure and made recommendations for improving Pathology services. Provided leadership for laboratory response to COVID-19 Omicron surge during winter of 2021-2022.

Interim Executive Director of Regional Laboratory Operations

Interim Executive Director of Laboratory Operations for a 5 hospital region in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Responsible for leadership of regional laboratory operations with 8 direct reports and approximately 450 FTEs, with two separate Core Laboratories. In addition to leading day to day operations, conducted analysis of current structure, recommended future state regional laboratory structure and developed business plan for regionalization. Provide leadership for laboratory response to initial COVID-19 surge.

Interim Director, Ancillary Services

Provided interim management services for a California District Hospital during absence of permanent director. Responsible for Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Mammography Center, Rehabilitation Services and outpatient Wound Care Center. Provided stability, interviewed to fill open management positions, working with managers to meet productivity / staffing targets and to identify and implement process improvements and savings opportunities.

Interim Director, Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging

Provided interim management services for District Hospital in California. Led Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging departments including new Mammography Center. Provided stability, acted as change agent, and implemented identified staffing reductions in all departments.

Interim Director for 25-bed critical access hospital in southwest Colorado. Stabilized laboratory operations and developed and implemented improvement processes. Successfully improved staff morale, reviewed and updated policies and procedures. Identified cost savings by integrating draw stations and creating infrastructure processes to successfully handle increased workload.
